9 people die of dengue in 24 hours, 1,042 hospitalized

Dengue deaths have increased in the country. The number of dengue deaths was low in the first four days of October, but it increased today (October 5). In the last 24 hours, 9 people have died due to dengue. At the same time, 1,042 people have been admitted to the hospital. On the other hand, as of yesterday, Saturday, one death was reported between 8 am on Friday and 8 am on Saturday.

This information was given in a notification sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services today. In the notification, the Directorate General of Health Services gave information for the 24 hours from 8 am yesterday to 8 am today.

Meanwhile, 898 dengue patients across the country have been discharged from hospitals in the last one day. With this, 47,256 people have been discharged this year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 10 people died of dengue in January, three in February, seven in April, three in May, 19 in June, 41 in July, 39 in August and 76 in September. No one died in March. This year, 212 people have died of dengue as of October 5.

2,565 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals in the capital due to dengue. Apart from this, a total of 49,907 patients have been admitted to hospitals since January this year. Of these, 1,161 were admitted in January, 374 in February, 336 in March, 701 in April, 1,773 in May, 5,951 in June, 10,496 in August and 15,866 in September. The Department of Health said that in the last 24 hours, 1,042 people have been admitted to various hospitals across the country including Dhaka due to dengue. Of these, 195 were admitted in Barisal Division (outside the City Corporation), 104 in Chittagong Division (outside the City Corporation), 201 in Dhaka Division (outside the City Corporation), 198 in Dhaka North City, 121 in Dhaka South City, 72 in Khulna Division (outside the City Corporation), 41 in Mymensingh Division (outside the City Corporation), 82 in Rajshahi Division (outside the City Corporation), 23 in Rangpur Division (outside the City Corporation) and five in Sylhet Division (outside the City Corporation).
